Türkiye ready to back US-Iran agreement, says Erdoğan
Türkiye is ready to provide full support for the implementation of any agreements between the United States and Iran, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said during a video conference with US President Donald Trump and the leaders of several Muslim countries, according to Türkiye's Communications Directorate.
The meeting was attended by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, and several members of the US Cabinet, Caliber.Az reports via Anadolu Agency.
It came after Trump’s announcement that an agreement with Iran to end the war between the two nations “has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization.”
The Turkish leader welcomed the fact that the diplomatic process with Iran had reached the level stated by Trump.
Praising countries that contributed to the negotiations, Erdoğan said that any agreement with Iran ensuring free passage through the Strait of Hormuz would help strengthen regional stability.
Ankara will provide all necessary support for the implementation of any potential agreement with Tehran, Erdoğan reaffirmed.

Erdoğan said that Türkiye has always advocated resolving problems through dialogue and diplomacy.
He added that Türkiye was working to establish peace in the region and believed that suitable solutions to complex issues, including the Iranian nuclear question, could be found over time.
The United States and Iran have been negotiating proposals and counterproposals through Islamabad to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, while also addressing concerns over Tehran’s nuclear program and its demand for sanctions relief.
