Ankara investigation leads to 14 detentions over drugs, prostitution

Fourteen of 21 suspects have been detained in Ankara as part of an investigation into alleged drug trafficking and prostitution, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office said.

The prosecutor’s office authorised the detention, search and seizure of assets of the 21 suspects. A simultaneous operation to detain them was carried out across Ankara on Saturday morning, TRT Haber reported.

According to the prosecutor’s office, evidence obtained during the investigation indicated that the suspects may have been involved in drug trafficking, facilitating the use of narcotic or stimulant substances, using narcotic and psychotropic substances, and prostitution.

Fourteen suspects were detained during the operation, while authorities are continuing efforts to locate and detain the remaining seven, the prosecutor’s office said.
