On October 27, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov granted an interview to Anadolu Agency, one of the leading Turkish media outlets.
Caliber.Az reports with reference to the MFA press service that the interview was carried out within the framework of Anadolu Agency's project dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye, noting that this date is a very important historical milestone and a source of pride not only for Türkiye but also for the entire Turkic world. He noted that Türkiye today is a state showing its leadership to the world in various directions, increasing the number of its strategic partners at the international level and proudly overcoming all these difficulties despite the external threats it faced at certain stages of its history. he noted that brotherly Türkiye, as one of the unique countries accepted and respected by the world's leading centres of power, is today implementing a successful mediation policy on an international scale.
In the interview, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov shared his views on the rapidly developing allied relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in recent years on the basis of the Shusha Declaration. Recalling with satisfaction that Türkiye was the first country to recognise our country's independence, the minister talked of historical, cultural, national and religious ties with the brotherly country.
Quoting statements of great leader Heydar Aliyev "One nation, two states" and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk "Azerbaijan's joy is our joy, its sorrow is our sorrow", Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said the will of our peoples, brotherly relations of our leaders are the basis of relations that have risen from the level of strategic partnership to the level of alliance, stressed Azerbaijan always feels political and moral support of Türkiye.
Touching upon the significance of the Shusha Declaration in the interview, the minister described the document as a roadmap for the activities of the two countries in all directions and spoke about important transport projects implemented in this regard and the prospects of existing cooperation.
Also in the interview, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov touched upon issues of mutual support between Azerbaijan and Türkiye and spoke about the active role of our countries within the framework of the Organisation of Turkic States, in expanding cooperation in trilateral and quadripartite cooperation platforms.
The minister expressed confidence in expanding the existing opportunities with the realisation of the Shusha Declaration.
