Azerbaijani defence officials visit Qatar to strengthen military ties Photo
A high-ranking Azerbaijani defence delegation, led by Deputy Minister Agil Gurbanov and Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, recently concluded an official visit to Qatar to strengthen bilateral military relations.
The visit began with a tour of the Military Air Academy at the Al Udeid Air Base, where the delegation was briefed on the facilities and educational programmes available to Qatari military personnel, Caliber.Az reports per Defence Ministry.
The delegation then met with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, H.E. Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, to discuss a range of mutual interests. During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current state of military cooperation between the two countries and explored avenues for its future expansion. The discussion also included senior military figures, including Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade.
The final stop on the visit was Barzan Holdings, a prominent Qatari defence company, where the Azerbaijani officials met with company leadership to discuss potential collaboration in the military-technical sector.
This visit marks a significant step in deepening the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Qatar, with a particular focus on enhancing defence capabilities and cooperation.
