Turkmenistan’s president releases second book celebrating Anau's cultural legacy

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan has unveiled his second book titled "Anau - a culture that dates back to millennia".

The announcement came during a meeting of the country's Cabinet of Ministers, as reported by TASS.

In his address, President Berdimuhamedov highlighted the significance of the book, which is dedicated to commemorating the proclamation of the city of Anau as the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" in 2024. He expressed his pride in presenting this literary work to the Turkmen people, emphasizing its role as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Anau.

"The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Pyragy" serves as the motto under which the book will be gifted to the Turkmen people this year. Magtymguly Pyragy, a revered Turkmen poet and philosopher, is commemorated on his 300th anniversary in 2024, further adding significance to the release of President Berdimuhamedov's book.

In November 2023, the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) declared the city of Anau the cultural capital of the Turkic world. In the ancient city of Anau, numerous evidence was previously discovered that the Turkmen people have the oldest and richest history and culture, Turkmen official media wrote.

In December 2023, Serdar Berdimuhamedov presented his first book, “Youth is the Support of the Motherland.” The book sums up the achievements and successes of the country's youth in the modern era; the work is dedicated to the results of the year of happy youth.
