Two drones believed to be Ukrainian crash in Finland
Two aerial vehicles, reportedly Ukrainian drones, have crashed near the city of Kouvola in southeastern Finland, Finnish authorities said.
The incident was reported by the national broadcaster Yle, citing a statement from Finnish Defense Minister Antti Kaikkonen.
“The drones entered Finnish territory. We take this very seriously. Security agencies responded immediately. The investigation will continue, and further details will be provided once the facts are confirmed,” Kaikkonen said.
According to Yle, several slow-moving objects flying at low altitude were observed over Finnish airspace on the morning of March 29. One drone fell north of Kouvola, while the other fell to the east of the city.
Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said the drones could be Ukrainian. The Finnish Air Force later indicated that one of the objects may have been identified as a Ukrainian An-196 drone.
