Two waves of Iranian strikes damage Qatar’s strategic gas facilities
QatarEnergy has reported significant damage to Qatar’s main energy hub, the Ras Laffan Industrial City, following two missile strikes carried out by Iran within a 12-hour period.
According to Caliber.Az, the state-owned company, confirmed that the first attack took place on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, and caused extensive damage to the Pearl GTL facility. A second wave of strikes occurred in the early hours of Thursday, March 19, targeting multiple liquefied natural gas facilities in the same industrial zone.

“In addition to the previous attack on Ras Laffan Industrial City on Wednesday 18 March 2026 that resulted in extensive damage to the Pearl GTL (Gas-to-Liquids) facility, QatarEnergy confirms that in the early hours of Thursday 19 March 2026, several of its Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facilities were the subject of missile attacks, causing sizeable fires and extensive further damage. Emergency response teams were deployed immediately to contain the resulting damage with no reported casualties. QatarEnergy will continue to communicate the latest available information,” the company said in a statement published on X.
