UAE denies reports of $3 billion transfer to Iran
The United Arab Emirates has firmly rejected media reports alleging that it transferred funds to Iran as part of an arrangement aimed at preventing attacks on the Gulf state.
In a statement cited by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, authorities dismissed claims published by several international media outlets that the UAE had transferred at least $3 billion to Iran on June 12, Caliber.Az reports.

“The United Arab Emirates categorically denies reports published by some international media outlets claiming that funds were transferred from the UAE to the Islamic Republic of Iran, including claims regarding $3 billion,” the ministry said.
The ministry stressed that the allegations are “completely false and baseless,” adding that no frozen Iranian assets have been released, transferred, or routed through the UAE.
According to the statement, “no frozen Iranian funds have been unfrozen, transferred, or routed through the UAE.”
The ministry also urged media organisations to verify information through official sources and avoid publishing unsubstantiated claims.
“The Ministry also called on the media to exercise accuracy, rely on official sources, and refrain from publishing or disseminating unverified information and unfounded claims,” the statement said.
The denial follows reports alleging a financial transfer between the UAE and Iran amid heightened regional tensions, claims that Emirati authorities have now unequivocally rejected.
