Ukraine to create cyber forces command by year-end, army chief says
Ukraine’s military plans to finalise the establishment of its Cyber Forces Command by the end of 2025, Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces (AFU) Oleksandr Syrskyi said in his Telegram channel.
Syrskyi noted that despite ongoing high-intensity combat operations, efforts to improve the armed forces’ command and control systems continue, per Caliber.Az.
“An important step has been made—we have fully transitioned to a corps-based system. Army corps and their commanders have gained experience and are conducting specific operations. Now we are aligning corps structures with their actual composition. Rotation of corps brigades has begun where the situation allows,” he wrote.
During a recent meeting, Syrskyi said issues regarding fortifications, engineering equipment, brigade combat readiness, law and order, and troop morale were discussed. “There are problem areas. Solutions have been proposed,” he added.
The commander-in-chief also outlined key objectives for the remainder of the year, including stabilising threatened sectors through active defence, ensuring personnel replenishment for combat units, and transitioning certain territorial defence brigades to enhanced drone-capable structures. He confirmed that the formation of the Cyber Forces Command is set to be completed by the end of 2025.
