Ukraine-US peace plan talks to continue December 15
Negotiations on a US peace plan between Ukrainian and American delegations, which began on December 14, will continue on December 15.
Both sides agreed to continue discussions, and attempts will continue in Berlin to mediate a potential ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, though specific proposals under consideration are not being disclosed, Caliber.Az reports, citing Handelsblatt.
It also noted that the US preliminarily acknowledged the prospects for success in the Berlin talks.
The talks, which began on December 14, have already lasted more than three hours.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz left the meeting after both delegations convened, while Chancellor’s aide Günter Sautter remained to moderate. Media reports indicate that the discussions cover Donbas and security guarantees, though details remain unclear.
Ukraine, the US, and Europe have spent nearly a month refining the American peace plan, which was initially seen as favoring Russia.
Recent reports suggest that three initiatives are being discussed: a framework document, a security guarantees agreement, and a document outlining postwar reconstruction principles.
