Ukraine warns of sustained Russia-US pressure until September
Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said the country will remain under significant pressure from both the Russian military and the United States until September.
He stressed that Kyiv does not intend to recognise the loss of any territories, according to Ukrainian media.
“We are definitely not losing. But if we stop or slow down, there are risks. If a technological breakthrough is not achieved now, the effectiveness of aerial systems will decline exponentially,” Budanov said.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also warned that Ukraine is entering a difficult period of intensified Russian pressure on the battlefield and increased US pressure in negotiations, noting that Washington could temporarily step back from talks in August.
The statement comes ahead of the US congressional elections in the fall, after which Democrats could gain control of at least one chamber.
