Ukrainian FM: Erdogan may help revive grain deal
10 August 2023 17:51
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba has said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may help restart the grain deal.
"Turkish diplomacy is working with Russian diplomacy, but we are building alternative routes for wheat exports that do not pass through the Black Sea," the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera quotes the minister as saying.
Kuleba again ruled out direct negotiations with the Russian leadership.
“Last year, an agreement on grain was reached through the mediation of UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Turkish President Erdogan. There were two separate agreements - with us and with Moscow. This may be an option: a creative approach to finding solutions is needed,” the diplomat said.
