Ukrainian FM says frontline situation remains difficult as ammunition runs out
The situation on the frontline in Ukraine remains serious due to a lack of ammunition, as well as air defence systems and missiles for them, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said in an interview with the tabloid Bild.
"The situation is very serious. Perhaps it's even more serious than it has been since the Russian invasion began almost two years ago," Kuleba said.
He said the massive rocket attack on the morning of January 23 proved that Ukraine needed more air defences and corresponding missiles.
"Despite the fact that Ukraine has significantly increased its production and will continue to do so, we can still see that the Western defence industry is not in a position to produce enough," the minister added.
He said the needs of Ukraine "do not match the defence needs" of the West.
