Ukrainian media: Russia may prepare offensive from Transnistria
Large-scale preparations for concentrating personnel and equipment for attacking Odessa began in the so-called “Transnistrian Moldavian Republic” (TMR).
Ukrainian news outlet Defense Express reports that the developments have been observed in the city of Tiraspol in the occupied Crimea. In particular, military transport aircraft and helicopters are being trained on the peninsula for the air transfer of personnel of the units of the 126th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade and the 810th Separate Marine Corps Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces.
At the same time, the PMR itself is actively taking measures to prepare the airport runway near Tiraspol, which has measures 2.5 kilometres in length and is capable of receiving all types of military transport aircraft. This reportedly indicates the preparation of an "air bridge" - the arrangement of the transfer of personnel and cargo by landing.
Meanwhile, military drills have been announced in the so-called "Transnistrian Moldavian Republic" to allegedly strengthen the forces in the unrecognized region.
