Netanyahu orders "decisive measures" against Gaza militants
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the Israeli military to “take decisive measures” against militants in Gaza following a shooting incident in the southern region, the Prime Minister’s Office reported.
Earlier, the Israeli army struck militants near the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, accusing them of a “serious violation” of the ceasefire.
“After Hamas violated the ceasefire, Prime Minister Netanyahu held consultations with Defense Minister Yoav Katz and senior security officials and instructed them to take decisive action against terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
Israeli Defence Minister Yoav (Israel) Katz has said that he urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to order the Israel Defence Forces to fully resume combat operations in the Gaza Strip.
“I call on the Prime Minister to order the IDF to fully resume combat in the Gaza Strip with maximum force. The false illusions that Hamas will change its ways, or even adhere to the agreement it signed, are proving, as expected, to be dangerous to our security. The Nazi terrorist organisation must be completely destroyed—and the sooner, the better,” he said.
