Kyrgyzstan’s newly appointed Minister of Emergency Situations, Urmatbek Shamyrkanov, personally participated in aerial training exercises, carrying out a parachute jump from a helicopter as part of the drills.
According to Kyrgyz media reports cited by Caliber.Az, the exercises were conducted at the Baitik airfield within the framework of a new 2026 training program for the Emergency Situations Ministry approved by President Sadyr Japarov. The drills were aimed at strengthening rapid-response capabilities in hard-to-access areas, practising safe landing procedures, and improving evacuation skills for rescuing injured people.

During the training, Major General Shamyrkanov focused particularly on the safety of airborne rescue operations, supervising pre-deployment equipment inspections and ensuring strict adherence to all operational instructions. He emphasised that such exercises help enhance the professional qualifications of ministry personnel and contribute to improving public safety during emergencies.
The Emergency Situations Ministry noted that aerial exercises are held regularly in accordance with approved plans, enabling rescue teams to reinforce practical skills and maintain a consistently high level of readiness for emergency situations.
