Romania scrambles jets, helicopter after Russian drone enters airspace

Romania scrambled fighter jets and a helicopter after detecting a Russian drone that entered its airspace from Ukraine’s Odesa region, RBC-Ukraine reports.

Before entering Romania, the UAV flew through Moldovan airspace for 14 minutes, prompting Moldova’s Defence Ministry to temporarily close the airspace over the country’s southern regions.

Romanian radars detected intermittent signals in the area of Galați County. In response, the Romanian Air Force immediately deployed aircraft to the region to monitor the situation
