US State Department Assistant Secretary of State Mora Namdar has said the United States would continue to pursue visa restrictions against individuals who violently repress and censor Iranians seeking to exercise their freedom of expression.

Her remarks came after the United States announced a new round of visa restrictions on February 18 targeting 18 Iranian regime officials and telecommunications industry leaders, along with their immediate family members.
According to the State Department, the measures are part of a broader policy aimed at individuals deemed complicit in serious human rights violations, particularly actions that inhibit Iranians’ rights to free expression and peaceful assembly.
