Media: Egypt expected to lead global stabilisation force in Gaza

Egypt is expected to lead an international military contingent planned for deployment in the Gaza Strip to maintain stability after the end of hostilities, The Guardian reports, citing sources.

The report reads that Azerbaijan, Indonesia, and Türkiye are also being billed alongside Egypt as the main troop contributors. Together with Egyptian forces, they will work to ensure the safety of civilians and prevent a possible resurgence of conflict.

It notes that the United Kingdom has already sent advisers to Gaza, who, together with the United States, are implementing the second phase of Washington’s 20-point plan. In addition, London is involved in training Palestinian police forces.
