Iran and Oman agree on vessel route through Strait of Hormuz

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that Tehran and Muscat have agreed on a route for vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, although some issues are still under discussion, according to Press TV.

On August 5, Baghaei said Iran and Oman had agreed on the geographic coordinates of the new route through the Strait of Hormuz.

At the same time, he stressed that the forthcoming agreement between Tehran and Muscat does not mean the immediate reopening of the strait, adding that the issue depends on US actions.
