Israeli military confirms airstrikes on Gaza following ceasefire violation

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed conducting airstrikes on the Gaza Strip in response to a serious violation of the ceasefire by Palestinian militants, the army’s press office reported.

According to the Times of Israel, Hamas attacked IDF forces, prompting Israeli strikes on Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

An emergency phone meeting is currently underway between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and the military command to discuss Israel’s further response to Hamas’s actions.
