Türkiye moves toward full-scale 5G rollout with $3.5 billion frequency tender
Türkiye has taken a major step toward the nationwide implementation of 5G technology following a high-stakes frequency tender that raised over $3.5 billion, including value-added tax (VAT), Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated.
The tender saw participation from the country’s three leading telecommunications operators: Turk Telekom, Turkcell, and Vodafone, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
“Today we held a tender for 5G technology, which will contribute to Türkiye's further progress in the field of communications,” the minister wrote on his official social media account.
Uraloğlu emphasized the strategic significance of the auction, expressing confidence that the outcome “will make a significant contribution to Türkiye's economy.”
