Ukrainian security service colonel shot dead in Kyiv VIDEO / PHOTO
On July 10, Ivan Voronich, a colonel in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), was fatally shot in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv.
The SBU press service confirmed that a criminal case has been opened over the killing of the colonel, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
The Security Service and National Police are taking comprehensive measures to investigate the circumstances of the crime and bring those responsible to justice.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing under Article 348 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, which covers attacks on the life of law enforcement officers or military personnel.
Authorities have established that an unknown assailant approached a parked vehicle where the colonel was sitting, fired a weapon, and fled the scene. Voronich died from his gunshot wounds.
The suspect’s identity is currently being determined, and efforts to apprehend the perpetrator are underway.
