US intentionally leaks Israel's secret intelligence information Iran’s Brig. Gen. says
Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the elite unit of Iran's armed forces, Brig. Gen. Ali Fadavi has said that the classified information regarding Israel's planned response to Iran's actions was intentionally disclosed in the US and this was done for a specific purpose.
"The US is disseminating this. If there was a document, the Americans are the ones who released it. If there were any objectives behind it, they have nothing to do with us," he said in response to a question about the leak of classified documents regarding Israel's plans, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Commenting on rumours of ongoing threats from Israel to attack Iranian territory, the IRGC's deputy commander noted that Israel has been "saying it wants to do this for over 20 days," but now the Islamic Republic is more prepared for an attack "than ever before."
The US is conducting an investigation into the leak of highly classified documents containing intelligence about Israel's plans to strike back at Iran. The documents, marked "Top Secret" and dated October 15 and 16, began circulating online after being published on the Telegram channel Middle East Spectator.
On October 24, the UK’s newspaper The Times wrote, citing sources, that the leak of Israel's counter-strike plans has prompted Israeli authorities to postpone the operation.
On the evening of October 1, Iran launched a massive missile strike on Israeli territory in retaliation for the murder of key figures in the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, the Lebanese Shiite organisation Hezbollah, and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Iranian officials claimed that 90 per cent of the missiles successfully hit their intended targets; however, Israel contended that Iran fired around 180 missiles, with most being intercepted.
As Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Galant warned on October 9, Israel does not rule out plans to respond to the missile attack with a strike on Iran that will be so "devastating and unexpected" that the Iranians won't even realise anything.
