US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg arrives in Kyiv VIDEO
Keith Kellogg, the U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, arrived in Kyiv today for a scheduled week-long visit, confirmed during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome, UNIAN reports.
Kellogg last visited Kyiv in February, shortly after the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump, according to Ukrainian media reports cited by Caliber.Az. His return comes at a critical moment as speculation mounts that President Trump may soon use his presidential authority to approve a new military aid package for Ukraine. This would mark the first such direct action by the Trump administration, which until now has maintained arms supplies authorised during the previous Biden administration.
Tensions escalated last week following the Pentagon’s unexpected decision to pause certain weapons shipments to Ukraine, including Patriot air defence missiles and precision munitions, pending a review of U.S. stockpiles. The move unsettled Kyiv and its European allies, raising concerns about the continuity of military support.
Adding to the uncertainty, President Trump announced plans to deliver a “major statement” on Russia scheduled for July 14, hinting at an initiative to supply arms to Ukraine financed through NATO.
