Uzbek leader to attend summit of Organisation of Turkic States in Azerbaijan’s Shusha

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Azerbaijan on July 5-6, where he will take part in the informal summit of the Organisation of Turkic States.

The leaders of Türkiye, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will also attend the summit, organised on the initiative of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports citing the local media.

The heads of observer countries and the Secretary General of the Organisation of Turkic States are also expected to attend the event.

The Karabakh Declaration, as well as several other important documents, are expected to be signed following the summit.

A meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Turkic States will be held before the summit.

The Organisation of Turkic States is an international organisation that aims to promote comprehensive cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries.

Founded in 2009, the Organisation of Turkic States includes member states such as Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

The organisation focuses on various areas of collaboration, including politics, economics, culture, education, and transportation, with the goal of fostering stronger ties and mutual support among its members.

Observer countries, like Hungary, participate in the organisation’s activities to engage in and benefit from the cooperation framework. The Secretary General of the Organisation of Turkic States oversees the implementation of the organisation's policies and initiatives.
