Uzbekistan shaken by earthquake, tremors felt in Kazakh cities
A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck Uzbekistan early on December 6, with tremors felt as far away as Kazakhstan, according to authorities.
Local media, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ seismic monitoring centre, reported that the quake occurred at 02:04 local time in the Pap District of Namangan Region, as per Caliber.Az.
The earthquake reached a depth of 17 km and registered a maximum intensity of 5 points at the epicentre. The epicentre was located approximately 135 km southeast of Tashkent.
The intensity of the tremors across Uzbekistan was recorded as follows:

Namangan Region: 3 points (77 km from epicentre)

Fergana Region: 2–3 points (104 km)

Andijan Region: 2 points (129 km)

Tashkent: 2 points (135 km)

Syrdarya Region: 2 points (173 km)
Seismic activity was also detected in neighbouring Kazakhstan. Residents in Taraz and Shymkent reported very weak tremors, registering 2 points. No casualties or property damage have been reported, and authorities describe the situation as stable.
This follows recent tremors felt in Almaty, where the epicentre was located in China, and the quake reached an intensity of 3 points.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations continues to monitor the situation and advises residents to remain alert to aftershocks.
