Violence returns to southern Lebanon as Israeli drone hits vehicle in Toul PHOTO
An Israeli drone struck a vehicle on October 24 in the southern Lebanese town of Toul, marking the latest escalation in a series of cross-border attacks.
The strike comes a day after Israeli operations in eastern and southern Lebanon killed four people, including an elderly woman, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
Israel has repeatedly carried out airstrikes in Lebanon despite a ceasefire agreement reached last November, which ended over a year of hostilities with Hezbollah, culminating in two months of open conflict. Under the terms of the ceasefire, Israeli forces were to withdraw from southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah agreed to dismantle its military presence in the region.
The Lebanese government, under pressure from the United States and seeking to prevent further escalation, has begun moves to disarm Hezbollah. The plan, however, faces strong opposition from the militant group and its political allies.
