Mongolia hit by major earthquake measuring 6.0

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake has been recorded in Mongolia, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The tremors were also felt in the city of Urumqi in China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, CCTV reports.

The quake, measured at 6.0 on the Richter scale, is classified as strong. Its epicenter was located at a depth of 15 kilometers.

No information has been provided regarding casualties or damage to infrastructure. Further details remain unknown.
