EU invites Canada to join European Political Community summit in Armenia
The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, has announced that Canada will be invited to participate in the next summit of the European Political Community (EPC), marking the first time a non-European country will take part in the forum.
“Together with Nikol Pashinyan, I have invited Mark Carney to participate as a guest in the next Summit of the European Political Community, in Yerevan. It is the first time a non-European country takes part in the EPC,” Costa wrote on X, Caliber.Az reports.

The upcoming summit is set to be held in Yerevan and will bring together European leaders to discuss regional security, economic cooperation, and political coordination.
Costa noted the broader significance of Canada’s participation, highlighting closer transatlantic cooperation.
“Europe and Canada are more than just like-minded partners - together we are building a global alliance to defend peace, shared prosperity and multilateralism,” he said.
