Police investigate arson attack on memorial near Jewish community in London
Counter-terrorism police in London are investigating a possible arson attempt at a war memorial in the Golders Green area, home to a significant Jewish community.
According to the Metropolitan Police, emergency services received a report of a fire on the evening of April 27. No arrests have been made so far.
Authorities said the memorial wall dedicated to victims of the First and Second World Wars was not damaged.
Police also stated that the incident is not being treated as a terrorist act at this stage and that they are maintaining a neutral assessment regarding possible motives.
Golders Green in north London is one of the areas with the largest Jewish communities in the United Kingdom. In recent weeks, there have been isolated reports of attacks on community-related sites in the area.
