T-Mobile launches 5G, Starlink-powered “SuperBroadband”

28 April 2026 20:50

T-Mobile has launched a new enterprise internet service combining its 5G network with Starlink satellite backup, aiming to improve connectivity for businesses operating in remote and underserved locations across the United States.

The offering, announced on April 28, comes as major U.S. telecom operators compete to expand enterprise services and defend market share in a highly competitive wireless and broadband sector. Industry players have increasingly focused on bundled connectivity solutions to retain customers and attract new ones, Reuters reports.

T-Mobile, one of the top three wireless carriers in the United States, has been expanding its fixed wireless broadband business, positioning itself as an alternative to traditional cable providers through lower-cost internet services.

The new service, branded “SuperBroadband,” is designed for multi-location enterprises and businesses in rural or remote areas where conventional broadband infrastructure remains limited. It integrates satellite connectivity to maintain service continuity during outages or network disruptions.

"We use T-Mobile's network, which already covers 98% of the U.S. population, and complement it ‌with Starlink and we are able to provide the service nationwide in every single zip code in America," said André Almeida, president of growth and emerging businesses at T-Mobile.

The initiative further strengthens T-Mobile’s partnership with SpaceX’s Starlink, which already supports its satellite-to-cell service known as T-Satellite.

"With over 10,000 Starlink satellites launched, Starlink and 5G keep operations running when other paths fail and extends connectivity to millions of new sites," said Jason Fritch, Vice President of Starlink Enterprise Sales, SpaceX.

The company did not disclose pricing, stating that costs would vary depending on location and bandwidth requirements.

T-Mobile is expected to report its quarterly earnings after markets close on April 28.
