Yerevan again offers Baku to sign unagreed deal
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that Armenia proposes Azerbaijan to sign the already agreed-upon articles of the peace treaty before the COP29 climate conference, which will be held in Baku in November.
“The Armenian side has offered to sign the already agreed-upon articles of the peace treaty before COP29 in Baku, thus creating a stimulating environment for the peace process to move forward,” he said at a discussion on "Seeking a united, secure future around the UN Charter" at the Leadership for Peace event organised by the UN Security Council, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
More than 80,000 guests, including heads of state and government from more than 50 countries, are expected to attend the UN climate conference COP29 in Baku.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry called unacceptable the proposal of the Armenian authorities to sign the draft peace agreement, excluding uncoordinated provisions from the text.
“The call of Armenian officials to sign the draft 'peace agreement', excluding unagreed provisions from it, and attempts thereby to leave the existing problems in bilateral relations for a later stage are unacceptable,” said Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Aykhan Hajizada.
