Strong fire breaks out at toy factory in Türkiye's Kırklareli
A strong fire has started at a children's toy factory in the city of Kırklareli in northwestern Türkiye.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Firefighters, AFAD rescue teams, medical personnel, and gendarmerie have arrived at the scene. Efforts to extinguish the fire are ongoing.
Earlier, in northwestern Türkiye, at least 12 people were killed and four others were injured as a result of an explosion at an industrial facility. The explosion occurred at 08:25 local time on Tuesday, December 24, and the fire has now been extinguished.
The incident took place at a factory in the village of Kavaklı, where ammunition and explosives for civilian use are produced. An investigation has been launched. There are currently no suspicions of sabotage, according to CNN Turk, citing the governor of Balıkesir Province, İsmail Ustaoğlu. According to him, part of the factory building collapsed as a result of the explosion.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed on social media X that he was "deeply saddened" by the deaths of the 12 people. The president extended his condolences to their families.
