Zaporizhzhya NPP's last transmission line shuts down Plant left with backup power
23 May 2024 19:56
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reported that the only remaining 750 kV power transmission line at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (NPP) has shut down due to a short circuit.
The outage occurred at 13:31, now the power supply to ZNPP is provided by the reserve line "Ferosplavnaya" 330 kV, Kommersant reports, citing the plant's press service.
"ZNPP lost contact with the only remaining 750 kV off-site power line this afternoon due to a short circuit, making it dependent on the only backup line," the IAEA said in a statement.
