Zelenskyy: "A few signatures" not to end war in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said in a recent Telegram update that the conflict in Ukraine would not be resolved simply through negotiations.
According to him, Ukraine has suffered 43,000 soldiers killed since the beginning of the full-scale war.
Additionally, there have been 370,000 cases of assistance for the wounded. Zelenskyy highlighted that about 50% of the wounded soldiers return to service, with all injuries, including light and repeated ones, being recorded, Caliber.Az reports.
Zelenskyy also emphasized the contrast between the Russian and Ukrainian armies, particularly in the realm of frontline medicine. “One of the key differences between the Russian army and the Ukrainian Defense Forces is the level of development of frontline medicine, which is much higher in the Ukrainian army,” he noted.
He went on to reveal the staggering losses faced by the Russian military. “Since September this year, Russia has been losing people on the battlefield in the ratio of 5 and even 6 against 1 for us. To date, Russia's losses have exceeded 750,000 people: 198,000 dead and more than 550,000 wounded,” Zelenskyy said.
Despite these overwhelming casualties, Zelenskyy stated that the conflict in Ukraine would not be resolved simply through negotiations. "It will not end with just a piece of paper and a few signatures,” he stated, further stressing that Ukraine seeks to “guarantee the reliability of peace.”
The Ukrainian president's remarks underscore the continued and devastating impact of the ongoing war, with no clear end in sight despite the heavy toll on both sides.
