10-year-old boy fatally shoots infant in US

A 7-month-old girl died after being shot in St. Louis on June 26, according to local police.

The shooting occurred around 4 p.m. in the 8400 block of North Broadway in the city's North Side, where officers responded to reports of gunfire, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

When police arrived, they found the infant suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The victim was identified by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department as Kiyomi Parker.

Police said a 10-year-old boy has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. He was taken into custody on the day of the incident.

Authorities also arrested a 19-year-old man, who is expected to face firearm-related charges linked to the case.
