One of the largest banks in Tajikistan, Dushanbe City Bank, has suspended servicing cards of the Russian "Mir" payment system for technical reasons, the bank said in a statement on September 26.
Mir cards are not serviced either at ATMs or at POS terminals, according to the bank's official Telegram channel.
On September 23, the suspension of the service of the "Mir" payment system in its infrastructure, as well as the operation of Uzcard-Mir co-badged cards abroad, was announced by the single republican processing centre of Uzbekistan Uzcard. This decision was made "in connection with the necessary technical procedures on the Uzcard payment system."
