The US Senate has unanimously confirmed Brad Cooper as the new head of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), Caliber.Az reports citing a live broadcast.
From 2021 to 2024, Cooper commanded the US Navy’s 5th Fleet based in Bahrain.
During his tenure, he introduced the Navy’s first-ever drone task force and led operations against Houthi forces in Yemen, including involvement in the Prosperity Guardian and Poseidon Archer missions aimed at securing maritime routes in the Red Sea.
