Germany predicts state of emergency consequences on Nord Stream
28 September 2022 19:15
Spokesman for the German government Steffen Hebestreit has said that the incident on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines may greatly change the situation in the German gas market in the foreseeable future.
The cessation of gas supplies from Russia may lead to serious changes in the country's gas market, TASS quotes Hebestreit as saying.
“It is obvious that the cessation of Russian gas supplies and the damage to Nord Stream will greatly change the situation in the German gas market in the foreseeable future. The federal government is working hard on a common solution that should protect consumers and companies from [high] gas prices, stabilise the gas market and ensure the reliability of supplies to Germany,” he added.
