Full control over Donetsk requires to continue fighting, says Kremlin official

    WORLD  30 September 2022 - 03:00

Russia needs to keep fighting to control all of Donetsk

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says Russia will need to keep fighting until it takes control of all of Donetsk; about 40 per cent is still in Ukraine’s hands, according to Al Jazeera.

On the ground, six civilians were killed in heavy fighting in the eastern region, a local Ukrainian official said on Wednesday, blaming Moscow’s troops.

In a call with reporters the same day, Peskov said the offensive would continue “at a minimum” until it had achieved the “liberation” of the Donetsk statelet Russia supports.
