Deadly Russian attacks leave two dead in Poltava, 11 injured
On the morning of July 3, Russian forces launched a series of attacks on Poltava, resulting in multiple casualties and fires.
According to the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Russian troops struck the city around 9:00 a.m., targeting key locations including the Poltava United City Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centre, where a fire broke out following one of the hits, Caliber.Az reports, referring to Ukrainian media.
Earlier at 8:49 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Forces had issued a warning about the approach of Russian attack drones advancing toward Poltava from the north and west.
Kateryna Yamshchykova, Secretary of the Poltava City Council, confirmed that the city was subjected to a heavy assault by Russian drones, noting that all relevant emergency and response services were deployed to handle the situation.
Following the attacks, the Poltava Regional Military Administration reported that two people were killed and 11 were injured.
In addition to the strikes on Poltava, Russian forces also attacked Odesa during the night of July 3, resulting in injuries, including to two children.
