Netanyahu’s office urges Nobel Peace Prize for Trump
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has urged that U.S. President Donald Trump be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Netanyahu’s office said: “Give Donald Trump the Nobel Peace Prize - he deserves it!”
Several international leaders and groups have publicly endorsed U.S. President Donald Trump for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, citing his involvement in recent peace initiatives. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been a vocal supporter, nominating Trump earlier this year and reaffirming his endorsement following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also proposed Trump's nomination, aiming to leverage his influence to facilitate peace talks with Russia. Additionally, leaders from Armenia and Azerbaijan jointly endorsed Trump for his role in mediating their conflict.
Malta's Foreign Minister Ian Borg nominated Trump, highlighting his efforts in facilitating peace agreements, including the Armenia-Azerbaijan accord. In the United States, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Trump’s son, Eric Trump, have publicly supported the nomination, with some Israeli citizens and political figures, such as opposition leader Yair Lapid, also backing the proposal.
However, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer declined to endorse Trump, focusing instead on ensuring the successful implementation of the peace agreements
