Three killed, dozens wounded in Chicago nightclub shooting
At least three people were killed and 16 others injured in a mass shooting outside a nightclub in downtown Chicago late on the night of July 2, officials confirmed.
According to US media, police reported multiple individuals were shot on the 300 block of West Chicago Avenue.
A city official stated that a total of 19 people were shot, including three who died, in what authorities described as a drive-by shooting.
The incident occurred as patrons were leaving Artis Lounge following an album release party for rapper Mello Buckzz.
This same block was the site of another mass shooting in November 2022, when the nightclub operated under the name Hush Lounge. At that time, one person was killed and three were wounded after a group, previously ejected from the club, initiated a fight.
Following the 2022 shooting, police closed the Hush nightclub. The venue later reopened under the new name Artis Lounge at the same location.
