Germany’s Vice-Chancellor, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck has said that the energy crisis could turn into a socio-economic one.
The German authorities are trying to prevent the crisis upon the decision to stop the rise in gas prices, Suddeutsche Zeitung quotes Habeck as saying.
According to the newspaper, the reduction in gas prices, through which the federal government wants to make consumers’ life easier, is expected to cost 200 billion euros ($195 billion).
