German Chancellor Scholz: Russia must not, will not win this war
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz considers a Russian victory in Ukraine to be currently "unlikely".
In view of the support of Ukraine also by Germany, it is becoming increasingly apparent that "Russia must not only not win this war, but also will not win it", said Scholz on November 26 at a state party congress of the SPD, Der Spiegel reported.
During his appearance, the Chancellor renewed his promise to support Ukraine for as long as necessary.
"We do this financially and with humanitarian aid and as we all know, also with arms supplies", Scholz emphasized.
He also reiterated the importance of his meeting with China’s leader Xi Jinping, where both had warned against the use of nuclear weapons.
The G20 states have also said that nuclear weapons should not be used in this war.
The vast majority of the group of leading industrialized and emerging countries recently strongly condemned the Russian war against Ukraine at the summit in Indonesia, despite major differences of opinion.
