Cuba, Türkiye discuss investments in energy sector

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel met with Turkish business representatives in Istanbul on November 26 and discussed investments into the island's economy, particularly in the energy sector.
He met with various businessmen in a meeting organized by the Turkish DEIK, a business diplomacy organization that leads foreign economic relations of the Turkish private sector, Diaz-Canel noted on his official Twitter acount.
"In the presence of some 40 businessmen from the Eurasian country, linked to important sectors such as energy, tourism, healthcare, aviation and textile production, the Cuban president briefly outlined some of the main investments currently being developed between Cuba and Türkiye. He highlighted the contract for the generation of electricity by [Turkish] floating power plants, of which there are currently seven in Cuba, and the use of renewable energy to improve energy efficiency", Media.Az reported citing Cuban authorities.
The Cuban president noted that cooperation with Turkish companies in the energy sector has helped Cuba to cope with the shortage of generation during the summer period.
Caliber.Az recalls, that the Cuban head of state was welcomed by President Erdogan on November 23 in the capital Ankara for talks on regional and global issues as well economic ties between the countries.
