Ukraine urges IOC to bar Russia from Paris 2024 Olympics
The head of the “Servant of the People” party, Olena Shuliak, has said that the Ukrainian parliament has called on the International Olympic Committee (IOC) not to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to take part in international competitions, including the 2024 Olympic Games.
She made the remarks on her Telegram channel, Caliber.Az reports.
The games will be held in Paris and will run from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
"Parliament upheld resolution No. 8398 with a proposal to ban athletes from Russia and Belarus from participating in international sports competitions, including the Olympic Games," Shuliak said.
She added that the Ukrainian parliament had appealed to foreign states’ parliaments, international sports federations, the IOC and National Olympic Committees.
