Israeli protesters block main entrance to Jerusalem
Israeli law enforcement forces have said that three people had been arrested so far during anti-overhaul demonstrations in Jerusalem, for allegedly attacking officers, according to The Times of Israel.
In addition to many roads near the Knesset that have been blocked by police, protesters have now blocked the Chord Bridge junction, the main entrance to the capital.
Cops are attempting to disperse them.
Israeli Justice Minister Yariv Levin presented a judicial reform plan on January 4. It would give the authorities unrestricted control over the appointment of judges and reduce the powers of the Supreme Court. Citizens who opposed the reform accused the bill's authors of intending to concentrate power in the hands of the ruling party.
Protests against judicial reforms have been going on for 12 weeks. On the night of March 27, they erupted with renewed vigour following news of the dismissal of Defence Minister Yoav Gallant. He called on the head of government to stop judicial reform.
