Earthquake of magnitude 6.2 strikes northern Sumatra, Indonesia

A powerful earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale has been recorded in Indonesia’s North Sumatra province, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The epicentre of the quake was located approximately 111 kilometres southeast of the city of Meulaboh, which has a population of around 35,000. The earthquake's hypocenter was at a depth of 76 kilometres, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
There have been no immediate reports of casualties or structural damage. Authorities have not issued a tsunami warning.
